Talare:

Privacy engineering is an emerging discipline within the software and information systems domain, aiming to provide tools and techniques such that the engineered systems provide acceptable levels of privacy. Dr Ian Oliver will address this from a high-level perspective, talk a bit about the gap between lawyers and developers and how to think when closing the gap.

Dr Ian Oliver currently works for Nokia and also holds a Research Fellow position at the University of Brighton working with Visual Modelling Group on diagrammatic forms of reasoning. Prior to that he held the position of privacy officer for Nokia Services and for eleven years he had the same position at Nokia Research Center. He has also worked at Helsinki University of technology and Aalto University. He holds over 30 patents in areas such as the Internet of Things, semantic technologies and privacy.

Sofia Gunnarsson, CEO / owner of law firm Sharp Cookie Advisors will provide practical examples of how Internet companies' business models make use of personal information and business data to be winners in digitization. She leads the work at Sharp Cookie Advisors where they identify, manage and execute these changes with top management of the ICT industry. She will provide examples from her experience in strategic change in telecommunications, as well as several examples of how adtech and loT startups design their (compliant) efficient use of data.
